TheMaid Brigade of New Haven and Eastern Fairfield Counties is owned by Ken and Barbara Campbell. Ken’s roots are in Southern Connecticut. The Campbells are the proud parents of 4 boys ranging from teenagers to college graduates. The entire family enjoys sports so their nights and weekends are usually filled with buzzer beater basketball games. When the family has the chance to get together it’s up to the oldest son, a trained chef, to make the meal and they all enjoy that family time and food. The Campbells also love to travel and Ken has a passion for golf. He believes that it’s the perfect wind down at the end of the day.
Before jumping into green cleaning and becoming a Maid Brigade owner, Ken worked in various businesses over the years which kept him away from home more than he wanted to be. Since he had knowledge of the Southern Connecticut and liked the Maid Brigade concept he thought it was a perfect fit. Owning his own Maid Brigade in Derby, CT has made it possible for him to be closer to home as well as be in an industry where something different and challenging happens every day.
The Campbell’s green cleaning office has grown substantially within the past year. In order to do this they had to make adjustments for the recession and they were able to weather the storm. Right now in the office they are working on new cleaning concepts and techniques to better serve the customers they love so much.
Giving back is definitely on the Campbell’s priority list. They are partners with Cleaning for a Reason, are participating in the Maid Brigade Book Drive and collected hundreds of toys from customers to donate to Toys for Tots last December. Since a number of Ken’s friends and family have been diagnosed with cancer, CancerCare is an organization that’s close to his heart and makes it possible to help others that have been diagnosed as well.
