Since it’s President’s Day, I thought it would be good to share some information I found this morning on the 10 most green presidents and the 9 least green presidents of our country, courtesy of The Daily Green.
Most Green (in chronological order):
1. Jefferson (1801 – 1809)
2. Lincoln (1861 – 1865)
3. Teddy Roosevelt (1901 – 1909)
4. Wilson (1913 – 1921)
5. FDR (1933 – 1945)
6. Kennedy (1961 – 1963)
7. Johnson (1963 – 1969)
8. Nixon (appears on worst list, too) (1969 – 1974)
9. Carter(1977 – 1981)
10. Clinton (1993 – 2001)
Least Green (in chronological order):
1. Jackson (1829 – 1837)
2. Grant (1869 – 1877)
3. McKinley (1897 – 1901)
4. Harding (1921 – 1923)
5. Hoover (1929 – 1933)
6. Eisenhower (1953 – 1961)
7. Nixon (1969 – 1974)
8. Reagan (1981 – 1989)
9. Bush (2001 – 2009)
Of course, the most recent former president GW Bush and his environmental attitudes and policies had nothing to do with our commitment to Green Clean Certified (R) house cleaning, even though we introduced our industry-leading green house cleaning service during his 2nd administration 🙂
If you want to read more about what each of the listed presidents did (or did not do) to earn their place on these lists, do an internet search on “US Presidents with the Best Environmental Records” (or Worst).
