November 26, 2012

This past Friday, Ranbaxy Pharmaceuticals Inc. has recalled dozens of lots of their generic version of the cholesterol drug, Lipitor, because some of them may contain tiny glass particles.

Ranbaxy is recalling the 10-, 20-, and 40- milligram doses of tablets of atorvastatin calcium, which is the generic form of Lipitor.

Lipitor has been the top selling drug for fighting cholesterol for years.  Only the 80-milligram strength tablets are not affected.
